Compost Tea
Finished compost steeped in water pulls out its nutrients and beneficial microbes into a liquid feed that plants absorb quickly.
What you'll need
- 2 cups finished compost
- 1 gallon water
- A porous bag or cloth
Steps
- Tie the compost into the cloth like a tea bag.
- Steep in a bucket of water for 2–3 days, stirring occasionally.
- Remove the bag and dilute the liquid by half with more water before using.
- Water plants at the base with the diluted tea.
Tip: Use compost tea within a day or two of straining — it loses its beneficial microbial activity the longer it sits.
