Eyewash
A simple sterile saline rinse for flushing dust or mild irritants from the eye — made with boiled, cooled water and pure salt only.
What you'll need
- 1 cup distilled water, boiled and fully cooled
- 1/4 tsp pure, non-iodized salt
Steps
- Boil the water and dissolve salt in it, then let cool completely to room temperature.
- Use a sterilized eye cup to rinse the affected eye gently.
- Discard any unused solution after use.
Tip: For anything beyond mild dust or minor irritation — pain, redness, vision changes — see an eye doctor rather than relying on a home rinse.
