Fabric Whitener
A gentle, chlorine-free soak that brightens dingy whites without the harshness of conventional bleach.
What you'll need
- 1/2 cup lemon juice
- 1/4 cup baking soda
- A large basin of hot water
Steps
- Fill the basin with hot water and stir in the lemon juice and baking soda until dissolved.
- Submerge the white fabric fully and let it soak for at least an hour, or overnight for heavily dulled items.
- Wash as usual afterward, then dry in direct sunlight if possible — sunlight adds a natural whitening boost.
Tip: This works best as regular maintenance rather than a one-time fix — soak whites every few washes to keep them from dulling in the first place.
