Gentle Eyewash

Photo of chamomile tea being strained for an eyewash

A cooled, well-strained chamomile infusion offers a gentler alternative to a saline rinse for mild eye irritation.

What you'll need

Steps

  1. Steep chamomile in boiled water, then let cool completely.
  2. Strain very thoroughly through a fine cloth to remove all particles.
  3. Use a sterilized eye cup to rinse the eye gently.
Tip: Skip this if you're allergic to ragweed, and see an eye doctor for anything beyond mild, brief irritation.
