Gentle Fabric Soap

A no-rinse-required liquid soap gentle enough for wool, silk, and other delicates that can't handle a standard machine cycle.

What you'll need

• 1/4 cup grated castile soap
• 1 quart warm water
• 1 tbsp glycerin (optional, for extra softness)

Steps

1. Dissolve the grated castile soap fully in the warm water, stirring until no flecks remain.
2. Stir in the glycerin if using.
3. Fill a basin with cool water and add a splash of the soap mixture; swirl to combine.
4. Submerge the garment, gently agitate for a minute, then let it soak for 10–15 minutes before rinsing.
