Glass Scratch Remover Paste

Photo of a window pane being polished

A baking soda paste can buff out very fine surface scratches on glass — it won't fix deep gouges, but it smooths light scuffing that catches the light at an angle.

What you'll need

Steps

  1. Mix baking soda with just enough water to form a thick paste.
  2. Rub gently over the scratch in small circles with the cloth.
  3. Wipe clean and check the result, repeating if needed.
Tip: This works on shallow surface scuffs only — a scratch you can catch a fingernail on needs professional glass repair.
