Insect Sting Relief

Photo of a baking soda paste being applied

A baking soda paste draws out the sting and eases itching from a mild bee or wasp sting.

What you'll need

Steps

  1. Remove the stinger if visible, scraping rather than pinching.
  2. Mix baking soda with a few drops of water into a thick paste.
  3. Apply to the sting and leave on for 15 minutes, then rinse.
Important: Difficulty breathing, swelling of the face or throat, or widespread hives after a sting is a medical emergency — call for help immediately.
