Laundry
Makes: 2 cups (powder)
Laundry Soap
A dry powder alternative to the liquid version — no cooking required, and it stores indefinitely in a sealed container without separating.
What you'll need
- 1 cup finely grated bar soap
- 1 cup washing soda
- A tight-sealing jar
Steps
- Grate the bar soap as finely as possible using a box grater or food processor.
- Combine the grated soap with the washing soda in the jar and shake or stir until evenly blended.
- Store sealed in a cool, dry place.
- Use 1–2 tablespoons per load, dissolved directly in the wash water.
Tip: In cold-water washes, dissolve the powder in a small cup of hot water first so it doesn't leave residue on fabric.
