Nature's Penicillin

Photo of raw garlic and honey

Raw garlic steeped in honey is a traditional folk tonic for the first signs of a cold — a supportive measure, not an antibiotic substitute.

What you'll need

Steps

  1. Crush garlic and let sit 10 minutes to activate its compounds.
  2. Stir into honey and let steep for at least an hour.
  3. Take 1 tsp as needed.
Important: This is not a substitute for antibiotics when one is genuinely needed — never give honey to children under 12 months.
