Shower Curtain Wash
A washing-machine method for restoring a mildewed or soap-scummed fabric or vinyl liner — no need to replace it every few months.
What you'll need
- 1/2 cup baking soda
- 1/2 cup white vinegar
- A couple of old towels (to balance the load)
Steps
- Add the curtain and towels to the washer along with the baking soda in the detergent slot.
- Run a warm wash cycle, adding the vinegar during the rinse cycle.
- Hang to air dry — avoid the dryer, which can warp vinyl liners.
Tip: Adding old towels to the load helps scrub the curtain clean as it tumbles — don't skip that step.
